frozen food

Frozen food has long competed on convenience and shelf life. Today, the category is expanding through greater product variety, international cuisines, and formats designed for different retail and foodservice applications.

For manufacturers, exporters and distributors, the frozen food market now extends well beyond basic ready meals. Traditional dishes, snacks, desserts and ingredients are being adapted into frozen formats for wider distribution and new commercial applications.

The Frozen Food Market Continues to Grow

The global frozen food market is projected to grow from US$340.34 billion in 2026 to US$508.12 billion by 2034, representing a CAGR of 5.14%, according to Fortune Business Insights.

As the market develops, the opportunity is increasingly about the variety and versatility manufacturers can deliver within the frozen format.

Traditional Foods Are Moving Into New Formats and Applications

This evolution was visible at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026, where international exhibitors presented frozen products rooted in local cuisines but adapted for different formats, channels and applications.

Frozen Aloo Tikki from India’s Shreeji Tastes Private Limited takes the traditional spiced potato tikki into a frozen format that can be served as a snack or used as a burger patty, creating different foodservice applications.

From the Republic of Korea, ARAM CO., LTD. presented BigFun Frozen Topokki in five flavours, including original, rose cream and sweet K-chicken sauce, combining a familiar Korean dish with frozen convenience and flavour innovation.

Thailand’s Noble Marketing Co., Ltd. presented Frozen Thai Sticky Coconut Pancake, a ready-to-heat traditional dessert developed for retail, cafés, restaurants and foodservice.

Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Yen & Brothers Enterprise Co., Ltd. presented Frozen Calamari Salad with Abalone Flavor, designed for applications ranging from cold starters and sushi to bakery fillings and pizza toppings.

Together, these products demonstrate how frozen formats can take culturally rooted foods into new eating occasions, channels and commercial applications.

What This Means for Frozen Food Manufacturers

For manufacturers, frozen food innovation is increasingly about how a product can reach new markets, channels and applications.

Format, portioning, preparation and versatility can help a traditional or locally familiar product become relevant to new retail and foodservice customers, creating more opportunities across different serving occasions and commercial uses.

Frozen Food at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia
